And so,

it's almost the end of my first year in university!
gosh, time flies!

I'm still in the midst of summer term exams, but it certainly feels much less hiong as compared to the autumn/spring terms.
I have really been living a good life for the past couple of weeks ;)
Random fact: the sun is setting late and rising early these days!
It's these things that make my experience in the UK a little more interesting haha.

Anyway it's already the end of May! Can't wait for next Tuesday to end!
Then I can look forward to a (hopefully) wonderful holiday in Greece~!
Can't believe I'm actually going to Greece! A place I've always heard about! Excitezxz.
Then very soon I'll be going home too! Less than 20 days gosh :)
I've survived 249 days here heh yes, I'm keeping track of the number of days.
Can't wait to be back home, meet all my loved ones and eat all my favourite foods.
The packing is something I'm not looking forward to though :\

Alright, till I-dunno-how-long-later-before-I-post!

end of 2012...

and not the world! hurray!
and of course a little (?) review to end the year!
while listening to 林俊杰 songs... wa memories haha.
can't wait to go sing K and sing my lungs out heh.

this has been one of the best years of my life! so shiok.
i enjoyed my JC years too but they were coupled with so much pain,
but 2012 was really... wa 대박~
learnt so many things. and once again changed a lot as a person.
though, as cherry says, I'm a stubborn person, so some old habits die hard haha.

working at Yamaha was fun :)
served many kinds of customers, worked with many kinds of colleagues, and memorised book prices and SKU codes unintentionally (i know, my brain really loves to waste space and i can't control it).
ate so much pepperlunch (probably a huge percentage of my additional 2kg sian) and burger king too!
it felt good earning money (hmm) and for a start stop taking allowance from my parents.
a great experience, definitely.
teaching music and piano to kids was another challenging but fun experience!
made me realise (though i don't know fortunately or not) that i should never force my kid to learn piano. not at too young an age at least. of course my kid must learn music la. but not too early because it is so confusing and it could (highly) possibly turn interest into hate. was that case for me. luckily my mum forced me to continue and when i reached secondary school it became my loveeeeee :)
okay that was very luosuo.
but yes might sound stupid but its really something i learnt.

then i started watching Running Man! really jjang :)
but shall not go too much into it :)

passed my ATCL, got my own trumpet, and studying music in the UK.
I'm so so so thankful for this chance :D
although i might lack talent, I AM AWFULLY GOOD AT SELFTALK SOMETIMES so eugenie can definitely pull through this and possibly do a good job out of it ;)
and living without my parents, I think I probably have learnt a lot too.
like how if you don't wash your toilet.... yeah nasty things happen.
but i still don't, so... :)
cooking! though i still suck at it, but i have at least improved okay.
i'm still alive here!
hmm, i still have a lot to work on regarding time management! but that will be in my 2013 resolutions! ^^
(time management has been in my new year resolutions since at least 2009 i believe)

i still don't understand myself though.
as in i know what i like and what i don't, but i have no idea why.
i can be such a confusing person. and in addition, i'm stubborn.
even in this new environment i keep to things and don't change.
for example how i speak. (cherry keeps telling me this kinda stuff and then i realise)
what i eat.
but i'm not trying to be that way.. i just wanna do what i like.
and i'm a coward in trying new stuff. like bubble tea flavours - not because i don't want to try new flavours but because i worry that i don't like it and i waste the money. cowardly. but hey it's money and its 3pounds okay! SGD6!
that i've known all along though. ever since secondary school times. how I stick to old things.
thats why people say i'm predictable. yeah, so i am. okay this post is getting abit...
but yeah anyway that's me. i'm not hateful that way (i hope?) so i shall not change that.

as for my 2013 resolutions... i'll get to it once i get my 2013 diary! :)

Almost Christmas!

The first Christmas spent without my family :(
and without all the good food my godma would cook. Sian.
but at least I have the other Jarratt friends :)
they can cook too hahaha.

Anyway I'm back from Germany and Prague!
It was so cold there! Now that I'm back in Birmingham it feels so much warmer.
It was fun and tiring. Got to see so many museums. Especially the ones on the Holocaust. those really made me very thankful to be born in this era. Not that we're that far from then, but yeah.
I put on weight :(

Can't wait for the next terms to be over so I can return to Singapore heh.
Impatient girl am I.

Holidays!

Yes it's the winter holidays! :)
And though it was painful to get through the essays,
the term was a good and enriching one :)
Shouldn't slack so much next term though.
Need to start preparing for the disgusting essays earlier haha.

Though I miss home, it's definitely been worth coming to the UK.
I'll be heading off to Germany/Prague in 2 days!
Excitezxz!

4 more days

to my 19th! but its gonna be a terrible one this year sigh.
Exam week next week! and I'm super unprepared.
I've been trying to get my focus back but it isn't working gah.

Anyway seriously I love Shosty's writing for the horns (and everything else) in the Violin Concerto No. 1 3rd movement! It's awesome and seriously, it's these parts that sometimes make me wish I played the horn.
Nah but of course trumpet will always be the best ;)
Had a much better trumpet lesson the other day. Even though it was in the morning.
And phew, I can keep my embouchure! Even though I really don't like it, its what's best for me so yeah.
Symphony Orchestra concert tomorrow. Puccini's Messa di Gloria is so nice to play :)
sigh, I will work harder for auditions in the next semester!
Next term I won't be involved in orchestra :( sian.

Eric Ewazen's Trumpet sonata is quite beautiful too! Hopefully I can improve alot alot alot more and try to work on it sometime next year!
Boohoo was trying to focus on reading the grove article but obviously failed and so am blogging instead.
There's a SingSoc xmas party later :( wish I could go since it's just happening in Jarratt's social room!
Eugenie is so inefficient and lazy >:(

After the terrible next week, liberation! HOLIDAY TO GERMANY AND PRAGUE AWESOME MUCH.

And so,

I have been in the UK for more than 2 months.
Time flies.
Term is almost ending!
Can't believe it.
Just have to chiong studio composition, and tank 2 (or 6) more essays.
Then I'll be off to Germany and Czech Republic!
Jiayou Eugenie. If anyone can do this, it's you :)

But self-talk doesn't always help omgggggg
I'm wasting so much time watching shows and doing stuff I don't need to.
But band was quite a good place to warm up, and if I didn't play in the band I would only be in one orchestra and that would just be boring..
Gah and my trumpet playing is so inconsistent.
though I am slightly inspired :)
I should stop thinking about that something it's so distracting!
Meh.

Okay, tata.

Shouldn't be posting now...

Or watching Running Man either :)
Because next week are our 2 first essays.
And it is crazy. Everyone's going crazy.
It's only been five weeks for 2 major topics - Baroque and Romantic.
I feel like I haven't covered enough for either periods...
And I'm still procrastinating sigh.

And my trumpet playing nowadays cmi leh.
Sian. And the other players here are super zai too!
Hopefully by the end of this academic year I can become like them.

I sprained my foot. I'm stupid man.
I hope it doesn't swell for too long more.

Alton Towers this saturday! Hope it doesn't rain and hope it isn't too cold!
